Marc D. Jonas, Esq. co-Presents CLE at Monroe County Bar Association

Marc D. Jonas, Esq. presented a CLE at the Monroe County Bar Association Bench Bar Conference on September 29, 2017 with the Honorable Robert “Robin” Simpson of the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.

The seminar entitled, “Regulatory Takings Claims, Zoning Cases and Other Current Land Use Trends” took place at the Northampton County Community College. Topics included: a discussion of important recent land use decisions; the SCOTUS decision in Murr v. Wisconsin; recent cases from the Poconos dealing with short-term rentals of residences (the AIRBnB Trend); and the burden of objectors in special exception/conditional use proceedings.

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Mr. Jonas is repeatedly recognized by his peers and by legal profession ranking systems.

He was named the 2018 Lawyer of the Year for Litigation in Land Use and Zoning Law in the Philadelphia Area and the 2017 Lawyer of the Year for Land Use and Zoning Law in the Philadelphia Area, by Best Lawyers in America®. He has been named a Leader in Real Estate/Land Use law by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. His peers have recognized him as a Pennsylvania “Super Lawyer,” and he has been selected repeatedly by U.S. News as a “Best Lawyer” in both Land Use and Zoning Law and Land Use and Zoning litigation for the Philadelphia Metropolitan area. He is a former Chairman of the Montgomery County Planning Commission.
