Robert R. Watson, Jr., Esq. presented, “CASPA & the Public Prompt Pay Act” for members of the Associated Builders and Contractors (“ABC”) Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter on May 8, 2013.
The purpose of the seminar was to provide the basics of Pennsylvania’s public and private construction payment acts. The seminar was meant to assist contractors and subcontractors in navigating through the “legalese” to make certain that their own rights to either receive or withhold payment are properly preserved and protected. It also covered these statutes’ damages provisions, which include attorneys’ fees, significant additional interest and penalties in the proper circumstances. The seminar included additional information on critical timing related to the Public Bond Act.
Mr. Watson is a Shareholder in the Construction Law, Litigation and Municipal Law practice areas at Eastburn and Gray, P.C. He is an active member of the ABC Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter where he sat on the Board from 2008 – 2011.
