Marc D. Jonas, Esq. Obtains Zoning Relief for Penn Cinema at The Marketplace at Huntingdon Valley
Penn Cinema, with locations in Lititz, Pennsylvania and Wilmington, Delaware is coming to The Marketplace at Huntingdon Valley on County Line Road in Upper Moreland Township. The new entertainment venue will feature seven screens, with a seating capacity of approximately 500 in reclining chairs. Represented by Marc D. Jonas, Esquire, the owner of The Marketplace sought relief from the zoning hearing board for a 250 square foot LED sign showing animation and video which is not permitted by the township’s zoning regulations. The zoning hearing board granted variances to permit this new and exciting signage for Penn Cinema. As the Penn Cinema owner testified, “The show starts at the sidewalk.” This approval followed Mr. Jonas’ obtaining a waiver of land development from the Upper Moreland Township Board of Commissioners.
The family-owned Marketplace Shopping Center on County Line Road features 255,000 square-feet of community shopping. It is the home of more than 45 popular retail stores, restaurants, and service establishments including Weis Markets, Sears Hardware, and LA Fitness. Other destination merchants are Starbucks, Rite Aid, Fine Wine and Good Spirits, Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa, Dunkin’ Donuts, Pet Valu, GNC, Mandee, Hair Cuttery and Bertucci’s.
Penn Cinema is an independent, family owned company and is expected to open in November, 2018. Located near the Pennsylvania Turnpike, it will feature a concession stand with a wood-fired pizza oven.
