Marc D. Jonas Esq. Quoted in The Scranton Times-Tribune on Zoning Matter
Marc D. Jonas Esq. was recently tapped by The Scranton Times-Tribune newspaper for commentary on an issue involving an exclusionary zoning matter in Jessup, a borough in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. At stake is whether the small borough can make way for a natural gas-fired power plant.
Mr. Jonas currently represents one of Pennsylvania’s largest landfill companies in a contentious Lackawanna County zoning dispute between the landfill company and objectors, including a grass-roots group of local residents who object to the company’s long-existing landfill and proposed expansion.
For more than 30 years, Mr. Jonas has represented clients in zoning, other land use, and real estate matters. Mr. Jonas, co-chair of the Land Use and Zoning practice group at Eastburn and Gray, has been named a Leader in Real Estate/Land Use law by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. His peers have recognized him as a Pennsylvania “Super Lawyer,” and he has been selected by U.S. News as a “Best Lawyer” in both Land Use and Zoning Law and Land Use and Zoning litigation for the Philadelphia Metropolitan area.
