Marc Jonas, Esq. Attends Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Penn State Abington’s New Academic Building
Marc Jonas, Esq. attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for Penn State Abington’s newest academic building on October 28, 2026. Mr. Jonas obtained all of the needed zoning and land development approvals for the building, the first new academic building on the Abington campus in 50 years. The three-story, 85,554-square-foot facility includes 17 classrooms, four laboratories, and an array of innovative and flexible educational spaces, art studios and a gallery, student support and lounge amenities, collaboration areas, and faculty offices.
This is the latest example of Mr. Jonas’ successful efforts on behalf of Penn State Abington to expand its campus. A few years earlier, he successfully represented the Abington campus in obtaining both rezoning and also land development approval for Lions Gate, the 390-student apartment building for Penn State Abington students. This was the first development of student apartments owned and operated by Penn State Abington.
Established in 1950, Penn State Abington offers a wide range of undergraduate degree programs in the heart of Montgomery County. On average, 500 students graduate from this campus each year. The development of an on-campus housing community will provide endless opportunities for students while simultaneously enhancing Abington Township.
Marc has been named a Leader in Real Estate/Land Use law by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. His peers have recognized him as a Pennsylvania “Super Lawyer,” and he has been selected repeatedly by U.S. News as a “Best Lawyer” in both Land Use and Zoning Law and Land Use and Zoning litigation for the Philadelphia Metropolitan area. He began his distinguished career as law clerk to Commonwealth Court President Judge James S. Bowman.
