Three Attorneys Selected for Inclusion in 2023 ChambersUSA Real Estate Rankings
Eastburn and Gray announced today that Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, an annual guide identifying top attorneys and law firms in the U.S., ranked three Eastburn and Gray attorneys and the firm’s Real Estate, Land Use and Zoning practice group in its 2023 edition. Marc D. Jonas, John A. VanLuvanee, and Julie L. Von Spreckelsen have been recognized by Chambers USA 2023 in the field of Real Estate: Zoning/Land Use.
For the tenth consecutive year, Mr. VanLuvanee and Mr. Jonas have been included in Chambers rankings. Both also serve as co-chairs of the firm’s real estate, land use and zoning practice group. For the eighth consecutive year, Ms. Von Spreckelsen has been ranked.
Mr. VanLuvanee handles zoning, subdivision and land development matters, as well as real estate transactional matters, for both developers and property owners. His clients include national builders and developers, as well as many regional and local builders and developers. For more than 35 years, he has served as counsel to the Home Builders Association of Bucks/Montgomery Counties. During his career, Mr. VanLuvanee has been involved in many significant, precedent-setting land use cases decided by the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. He is a graduate of Kalamazoo College and the University of Michigan Law School.
In addition to his notable recognition by Chambers, Mr. Jonas was named the 2023 Lawyer of the Year for Litigation in Land Use and Zoning Law in the Philadelphia Area; and previously 2021 and 2018 Lawyer of the Year for Litigation in Land Use and Zoning Law in the Philadelphia Area and 2017 Lawyer of the Year for Land Use and Zoning Law in the Philadelphia Area, by Best Lawyers in America®. Mr. Jonas has distinguished experience in real estate, land use, municipal law, representing individuals, businesses, institutions, non-profit organizations and municipal boards. He has appeared in Pennsylvania state and federal courts in land use and real estate matters and has testified as an expert witness in the Courts of Common Pleas of Delaware, Chester, and Montgomery Counties. Mr. Jonas is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He previously served as Chairman of the Montgomery County Planning Commission.
Ms. Von Spreckelsen has been representing commercial and residential real estate developers, businesses, individuals, and distinguished industrial and institutional clients in real estate law, including zoning, subdivision, land development and municipal-related matters for more than 15 years. She frequently represents clients in front of municipal bodies and state courts throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Ms. Von Spreckelsen is a graduate of the University of Delaware and Dickinson School of Law.
