Marc D. Jonas, Esq. Appointed Solicitor of the Montgomery County Development Corporation
Marc D. Jonas, Esq. was recently appointed solicitor of the Montgomery County Development Corporation (“MCDC”). The role of the solicitor is to provide general legal advice and counsel to MCDC.
The mission of MCDC is to further the economic development interests of the county’s businesses through participation in programs in cooperation with Montgomery County, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the business community of the county. Essentially, MCDC acts as the county’s loan officer.
Mr. Jonas, co-chair of Eastburn and Gray’s land use group, has extensive experience in real estate, land use, municipal law, and zoning matters, representing individuals, businesses, and municipalities. He is a frequent lecturer for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and has served for years as Chairman of the Montgomery Bar Association Real Estate Committee, a committee of practitioners in the areas of municipal, land use, and real estate law.
Mr. Jonas has been named a Leader in Real Estate/Land Use law by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. His peers have recognized him as a Pennsylvania “Super Lawyer,” and he has been selected by U.S. News as a “Best Lawyer” in both Land Use and Zoning Law and Land Use and Zoning litigation for the Philadelphia Metropolitan area. He serves as solicitor to Kennett Square Borough and Narberth Borough; and as solicitor to the Zoning Hearing Boards of Towamencin, Lower Salford, and Upper Merion townships. Mr. Jonas currently chairs the Montgomery County Planning Commission.
