Five Eastburn and Gray Attorneys to Speak at 2019 PBI Real Estate Institute

Mark S. Cappuccio, Esq., Marc D. Jonas, Esq., Michael E. Peters, Joan Righter Price, Esq. and Robert R. Watson, Esq. will serve as faculty members of the 2019 PBI Real Estate Institute in Philadelphia on December 6, 2019.

Mr. Jonas and Mr. Peters will serve as co-panelists at a seminar entitled, “The ABCs of Municipal Approvals” that will cover the process of municipal approvals, including zoning, subdivision and land development, from both the municipal and developer viewpoint. The seminar will cover common pitfalls in the approval process, and will provide recommendations for efficient and favorable results.

Mr. Cappuccio and Ms. Price will serve as co-panelists at a seminar entitled, “2019 Developments in Tax Assessment Law” that will cover recent tax assessment appeal cases within the Commonwealth. The presentation will be geared to real estate professionals and attorneys practicing in the field.

Mr. Watson will serve as a panelist for a seminar entitled, “Managing and Responding to Mechanics’ Liens: Advice for Owners, Developers and their Counsel” that will cover the mechanics’ lien remedy and statutory rights afforded to property owners and developers faced with lien claims, threats of lien claims, and considerations to be made as a project proceeds ahead.

Mr. Cappuccio is an experienced civil trial attorney with an extensive background in tax assessment law, commercial litigation, real estate, zoning, and condemnation. He represents individuals, businesses and municipalities in a variety of real estate matters including land use, zoning and condemnation cases. He serves as the solicitor to Lower Milford and Marlborough Townships.

Mr. Jonas has extensive experience in municipal law, real estate, land use and zoning matters, representing municipalities, individuals and businesses. He was named 2018 Lawyer of the Year for Litigation in Land Use and Zoning Law in the Philadelphia area and 2017 Lawyer of the Year for Land Use and Zoning Law in the Philadelphia area by Best Lawyers in America®. He is routinely recognized as a leader in land use and zoning law and litigation by many of the legal industry’s most notable ranking systems. He currently serves as Solicitor to three zoning hearing boards.

Mr. Peters represents municipalities in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, as well as private commercial and residential clients before zoning hearing boards and municipal governing bodies in land development and zoning matters. He has appeared in courts of common pleas throughout the Commonwealth and Commonwealth Court in land use and municipal law litigation and appeals.

Mrs. Price is an experienced trial attorney and represents clients in litigation involving real estate valuation, exemption and constitutional issues as well as issues involving preferential assessments. She represents clients in hearings before local boards of assessment as well in the courts of common pleas and the appellate courts of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Eastburn and Gray, Mrs. Price served as Solicitor to the Montgomery County Board of Assessment Appeals for more than 20 years.

With 20 years of experience representing clients from all aspects of the construction industry, Mr. Watson is a frequent lecturer on construction law-related topics. In 2016, he was selected to work with Pennsylvania officials to launch the Pennsylvania State Construction Notices Directory website, which provides some additional protections under the Mechanics’ Lien Law.
