John A. VanLuvanee, Marc D. Jonas, Julie L. Von Spreckelsen and Michael E. Peters have been recognized by ChambersUSA 2016 edition in the field of Real Estate: Zoning/Land Use. This comprehensive list is published annually by Chambers and Partners, a United Kingdom-based legal publisher.
For the third consecutive year, Mr. VanLuvanee and Mr. Jonas have been named Leaders in Their Field in the 2016 Directory. Both individuals serve as co-chairs of the firm’s real estate, land use and zoning practice group. Ms. Von Spreckelsen has been named a Noted Practitioner and Mr. Peters has been named an Associate to Watch in the Directory.
Mr. VanLuvanee handles zoning, subdivision and land development matters, as well as real estate transactional matters, for both developers and property owners. His clients include national builders and developers, as well as many regional and local builders and developers. For more than 30 years, he has served as counsel to the Home Builders Association of Bucks/Montgomery Counties. During his career, Mr. VanLuvanee has been involved in many significant, precedent-setting land use cases decided by the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. He is a graduate of Kalamazoo College and the University of Michigan Law School.
Mr. Jonas has extensive experience in real estate, land use, municipal law, and zoning matters, representing individuals, businesses, institutions, non-profit organizations and municipalities. He has appeared as counsel in Pennsylvania state and federal courts in land use and real estate matters. He serves as solicitor to various municipalities and zoning hearing boards in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Mr. Jonas is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Ms. Von Spreckelsen has been representing commercial and residential real estate developers, businesses, individuals, and distinguished institutional clients in real estate law, including zoning, subdivision, land development and municipal-related matters for more than 15 years. She frequently represents clients in front of municipal bodies and state courts throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Ms. Von Spreckelsen is a graduate of the University of Delaware and Dickinson School of Law.
Mr. Peters represents commercial and residential clients before zoning hearing boards and municipal governing bodies in land development and zoning matters. Mr. Peters has appeared in courts of common pleas throughout the Commonwealth and Commonwealth Court in land use and municipal law litigation and appeals. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and The George Washington University Law School.
