Grace M. Deon, Esq. Speaks at Bucks County Bar Association CLE – December 2024
On December 10, 2024, Grace M. Deon, Esq. served as a speaker at the Bucks County Bar Association Marathon Day. The seminar entitled, “Cocktail Conversations for Lawyers: A Supreme Court Review” focused upon key decisions by the court handed down during 2024.
Ms. Deon spoke about multiple cases where the court reviewed the government’s ability to control online speech in social media as to individuals posting, as well as from the perspective of a social media site reviewing and blocking posted commentary. In one of the decisions issued, the Court held that First Amendment constitutional protections are not infringed upon when social media platforms make independent decisions about what may or may not be removed from social media dialogue.
Ms. Deon is a Shareholder, President and CEO of Eastburn and Gray, PC and her law practice includes Employment, Commercial and Special Education litigation. She is the Chair of the Federal Courts Section of the Bucks County Bar Association. A resident of Northampton Township and a past President of the Bucks County Bar Association, Ms. Deon is the first woman to lead a major law firm headquartered in Bucks County. She has been an attorney with the firm for more than 30 years and served on its management committee for more than 10 years.
