Joan Righter Price, Esquire to Speak at Montgomery Bar Association

Joan Righter Price, Esq. will speak at the Montgomery Bar Association’s Real Estate Committee meeting on November 21, 2019 in Norristown. Marc D. Jonas, Esq., co-chair of the committee, will serve as a moderator.

The seminar will cover the basics as well as the finer points of Act 319 of 1974 (Farmland and Forestland Preservation Act) commonly known as “Clean and Green” program. The program seeks to preserve large amounts of open land by giving preferential real estate tax assessments to landowners that agree to keep their property free of development but there are penalties for those who violate the covenant.

Ms. Price represents clients in litigation involving real estate valuation, exemption and uniformity issues as well as issues involving preferential assessments. She represents clients in hearings before local boards of assessment, in the courts of common pleas and the appellate courts of Pennsylvania. She has also served as an Expert Witness on Act 319 and assessment administration issues. Prior to joining Eastburn and Gray, Ms. Price served as Solicitor to the Montgomery County Board of Assessment Appeals for more than 20 years.
