Marc D. Jonas, Esq. to Speak at PBI Environmental Rights Amendment Seminar
Marc D. Jonas, Esq. will serve as a faculty member for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s seminar entitled, “PA’s Powerful Environmental Bill Of Rights (The “ERA”): Implementation Phase” on September 27, 2023 via Webcast. This program is focused on the implementation of the ERA at various levels of government at a time of climate crisis.
Among his notable accomplishments, Mr. Jonas was named by Best Lawyers in America® the 2023 and 2018 Lawyer of the Year for Litigation in Land Use and Zoning Law in the Philadelphia Area. This follows his selection as 2017 Lawyer of the Year for Land Use and Zoning Law in the Philadelphia Area, by Best Lawyers in America®.
Mr. Jonas is a shareholder and co-chair of the land use and zoning practice group at Eastburn and Gray, PC. He has extensive experience in real estate, land use, municipal law, and zoning matters, representing individuals, businesses, institutions, non-profit organizations, and municipal boards. He has appeared as counsel in Pennsylvania state and federal courts in matters involving land use and real estate law. His diverse practice has included the representation of developers of residential, commercial, institutional, and religious land uses. He serves as solicitor to the zoning hearing boards of Towamencin, Lower Salford, and Upper Merion townships and recently as special counsel to Straban Township in Adams County. Mr. Jonas was formerly a member and board chairman of the Montgomery County Planning Commission. He received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Following his service in the United States Air Force Reserve, he was law clerk to the Honorable James S. Bowman, President Judge of the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.
In addition to his recognition by Best Lawyers, he has been named a leader in Real Estate/Land Use Law by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, and he has been selected by peers for inclusion in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers magazine since 2004.
