Robert R. Watson, Jr., Esq., a Shareholder in the Construction Law practice group at Eastburn and Gray, and a member of the firm’s management committee, served as faculty at a recent Montgomery County Paralegal Association (MCPA) seminar. The virtual seminar, held on November 18, 2020, covered construction law and mechanics liens and provided an overview of the lien law and practical use of the statute to help assure payment, as well as appropriate steps for an individual or entity to take when faced with possible lien claims.

With nearly 20 years of experience representing clients from all aspects of the construction industry, Mr. Watson is a frequent lecturer on construction law-related topics. In 2016, he was selected to work with Pennsylvania officials to launch the Pennsylvania State Construction Notices Directory website, which provides some additional protections under the Mechanics’ Lien Law.

The Montgomery County Paralegal Association (“MCPA”) was founded on October 22, 1999 and is made up of a diverse group of 130-plus members. It is the mission of the MCPA to provide a network of communication and support to all of its members, to act as a forum for the interchange of ideas and to take an effective role in the development and growth of the paralegal profession by complying with the applicable legal authority governing the jurisdiction in which the paralegal is practicing.
