Biography

Hugh J. Algeo IV is an attorney in the firm's Family Law and Litigation practice groups.

Hugh concentrates his practice on the area of family law. He handles a wide variety of complex matrimonial law, family law and domestic relations-related matters including divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, protection from abuse, alimony, alimony pendent lite, and equitable distribution. Hugh has extensive experience helping clients with issues at the intersections of business and divorce as well as tax and divorce. His practice includes complex divorce matters involving unique issues, substantial marital estates and business valuations. Hugh works with clients during all phases of the legal process, from negotiation to trial.

Hugh represents family law clients and litigates in courts in the surrounding five county Philadelphia area, including appellate courts. He represents LGBT clients in family law matters. As a trial attorney he handles all stages of matrimonial litigation from trials, appeals, plenary hearings, to pre and post judgment applications. He has years of valuable experience that enables him to provide competent and tactful representation for his clients.

Hugh is also an experienced litigator and has argued before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. As a member of the firm’s Litigation practice group, he litigates civil matters throughout the Delaware Valley.

Hugh is a member of the Bucks County, Chester County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. He is an active member of the Family Law Sections of both the Bucks County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association

Hugh is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey.

Education

He received his Juris Doctor from Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law. While in law school, he was actively involved in the Drexel Law Brehon Society and volunteered his time at the Irish Immigration Center of Philadelphia’s Immigration Clinic.

Hugh received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Alvernia University. At Alvernia University, he had the honor of serving as Captain of the Men's Lacrosse team.

Volunteer and Community Work

Hugh frequently volunteers his time through the Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania. He routinely presents seminars for Second Saturday® where he speaks about the legal issues that people encounter during the process of a divorce. Hugh is an active member at the Upper Main Line YMCA in Berwyn where he serves on the Membership Committee.
