Grace M. Deon, Esq. Helps Local Girl Scout Troop Earn Government Badge
On Friday, October 18, 2019, Grace M. Deon, Esq. helped Girl Scout Troop 2315 earn their Inside Government badge. The purpose of this badge is to find out more about the basics of government and to encourage active citizens. Ms. Deon discussed the importance of the judicial branch and conducted a mock trial with the troop.
The girls role-played as jurors, the bailiff, sheriff’s deputy, minute clerk and stenographer while troop leaders and parents acted as legal counsel and witnesses. The highlight of the day was a visit by Daisey, a dog owned by the District Attorney’s office that provides support and comfort to crime victims, witnesses and family members.
Ms. Deon is a shareholder and member of Eastburn and Gray’s management committee. Her practice focuses on Employment, Commercial and Special Education litigation. She previously served as the President of the Bucks County Bar Association.
The mission of the Girl Scouts is to develop girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. To learn more, please visit www.girlscouts.org.
