John A. VanLuvanee, Esquire Honored by Two Leading Legal Industry Publications
John A. VanLuvanee has been named The Best Lawyers in America® 2014 Lawyer of the Year for Land Use and Zoning Law in the Philadelphia area. Since 2007, Mr. VanLuvanee has been consistently selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America®.
Best Lawyers® began designating “Lawyers of the Year” in the U.S. in high-profile legal practice areas in 2009. Only a single lawyer in each practice area in designated metropolitan areas is honored as the “Lawyer of the Year,” making this accolade particularly significant.
Earlier this year, Mr. VanLuvanee was named by Thomson Reuters, publishers of Pennsylvania Super Lawyers magazine, as one of Pennsylvania’s Top 100 Attorneys. Six other Eastburn and Gray attorneys were recognized by Thomson Reuters as Pennsylvania Super Lawyers or Pennsylvania Rising Stars recognition in their areas of practice. Only five percent of attorneys in the state are named by Super Lawyers annually.
Mr. VanLuvanee is a Shareholder at Eastburn and Gray and co-chair of the firm’s Land Use and Zoning practice group. In his practice, he handles zoning, subdivision and land development matters, as well as real estate transactional matters, for both developers and property owners. His clients include national builders and developers, as well as many regional and local builders and developers. For more than 30 years, Mr. VanLuvanee has served as counsel to the Home Builders Association of Bucks/Montgomery Counties. Mr. VanLuvanee frequently participates as a faculty member in presenting continuing legal education programs for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the Bucks County Bar Association. During his career, Mr. VanLuvanee has been involved in many significant, precedent-setting land use cases decided by the Commonwealth Court and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
The Land Use and Zoning practice group at Eastburn and Gray is one of only four law firms in the Philadelphia region that has been recognized by US News and World Report as a 2012-2013 “Best Law Firm” in the field of Land Use and Zoning.
